Guinness World Record’s adjudicator,

This historic gathering, held at the Mata Ramabai Ambedkar Maidan grounds, India, set the Guinness World Record for the largest audience ever to attend a book reading by a single author. The new record of 114.704 exceeds the previous one of 6,786.

This world record established by Mr. Rawat also exceeded the previous multiple author record of 20,264 held by Harry Potter author, J.K. Rowling, and two others.

Prem’s book ‘Hear Yourself – How to find peace in a noisy world’- has reached both the New York Times and Irish Times best-seller lists.

Two weeks after its debut on September 14th, 2021, ' Hear Yourself' debuted on the New York Times Best Seller List - getting published on the New York Times Best Seller List is regarded as the gold standard in the publishing world.

In April 2023 Hear Yourself reached the Irish Times bestseller list, for two weeks running.

Global Book Donation Projects (Kifubon)

  • Japan

    In 2015, Bunya, a publishing house in Japan started Kifubon – the Japanese name for book donations - sending thousands of copies of Prem Rawat’s books free of charge to schools, orphanages and prisons across Japan.

    This year, 2024 Bunya are continuing their efforts with the Thousand Days Project which will see the Japanese version of Hear Yourself being published and donated across Japan, to orphanages, hospitals and prisons alongside a public lecture by Prem Rawat in October.

  • France

    In France efforts have continued to not only donate Prem’s preceding title ‘ Peace is Possible’ - in French ‘Quand le Désert Fleuret’- to various institutions, including a special effort to make the book available in Braille, volunteers have made available the tools to set up reflexive reading groups based on Prem’s books, which can be found on their website.

  • Globally

    ‘Kifubon’ is now an international project joined by companies, associations, institutions and individuals from all over the world .

    Thousands of books have already been distributed in a wide variety of places with the intention of helping to manifest a culture of empathy and compassion. This includes all prisons in South Africa and education associations for young people in the country’s slums, in prisons in the United Kingdom, Portugal, in schools in Brazil, Uruguay, Cambodia, Malaysia… etc…

Bedrock Books is the UK Kifubon Project. In partnership with wellbeing projects, Bedrock Books gifts books and supports reading groups, providing the opportunity to develop resilience and improve wellbeing and confidence. ​Bedrock Books is a Community Interest Company, established in 2018, by a small team of volunteers.

Bedrock Books has donated thousands of books to prisons, to health workers, hospices and to drug and alcohol community projects. The organisation also makes available unique reading groups, led by a facilitator, which supports participants in exploring the basis of their own humanity. Participants are invited to read, reflect and re-discover their fundamental feelings and understandings.
